Richard Tette
Painter



Richard is a San Francisco bay area native and received his education at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, majoring in advertising and illustration. After graduation he started his early career as an illustrator in the aerospace industry. During this time he also began painting and exhibiting his fine art in regional and national competitions. Carmel’s Zantman Gallery showed his work and Richard also opened his own gallery located in Su Vecino Court. In May of 1972 he was one of the prize wining finalists selected by the American Federation of Arts for the Benedictine Art Awards Show in New York.

Richard has exhibited in the annual Society of Western Artists Show at the De Young Museum in San Francisco; Watercolor USA Show in Springfield, Missouri; the California State Fair and in many other juried shows. He is the recipient of numerous awards and his work has been selected to tour several mid-western universities and galleries.

He has experimented in different mediums and is currently working in oil. He lives in Carmel Valley and became a member of the Carmel Art Association in 2007.
