Julie Brown Smith
Artist



Julie Brown Smith is a painter and printmaker based in Monterey, California. Her work, which includes ink on canvas paintings, pencil drawings, and hand-pulled limited edition relief prints, has been exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions, most recently at Art Pic Gallery in North Hollywood, Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena, and the Carmel Art Association, of which she has been a member since 1987.
 
Her paintings have also been featured in several independent films and television series, including Six Feet Under on HBO; and ER, Joey, and Las Vegas, all on NBC, as well as in Vogue magazine. Her work is in over two hundred private, public and corporate national and international collections, including those of Eric Clapton, Mr. and Mrs Justin Dart, Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations of Boston, the Black Ministerial Alliance of Greater Boston, and Central Boston Elder Services. Julie Brown Smith is represented by the Carmel Art Association, Carmel, California; ArtPic Gallery, North Hollywood, California; and Shelley Hall Gallery, Bend, Oregon. She is a member of The Boston Printmakers.
