Virginia Fry has been a member of the Carmel Art Association since 1960. She graduated from California State University San Jose, and later studied at the University of California, Berkeley, and Santa Cruz, and the Pasadena Art Institute.


She was an instructor for many years at Monterey Peninsula College, and has been an author and illustrator for Saunders College Publishing, a subsidiary of Harcourt Brace.


Her paintings have been in many exhibitions including the Jossylyn Museum, Omaha, Nebraska; and the University of California Berkeley Gallery. Her watercolors and acrylics have won awards in the Six States Annual, the Monterey Peninsula Museum of Art County Annual, and smaller exhibitions.


Virginia enjoys painting still lifes, local landscapes, and historical interpretations of living museums such as Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Plymouth.
