Under the guidance of nationally prominent artists-teachers, Norma Zeigle Bhaskar was exposed to and developed her skills in various mediums and spent years working in different disciplines of painting, from realism to abstract expressionism. She feels comfortable doing still lifes, portraiture, or landscapes in acrylic, watercolor, or oil. It is her work as an abstract expressionist, however that has given her the most excitement and challenge and which has best served her in translating her thoughts and emotions.
Her bold, imaginative forms and rich, confidant use of color fill her canvases with vitality and provide a rewarding viewing experience. While she creates a strong visual impact with her bold forms and colors, there is also an innocent, vulnerable quality about her paintings that touches emotional chords of a more delicate nature. This mixture of strength and delicacy adds much to the enduring pleasure provided by her work.
